Jackpot! my experience with a Las Vegas slot machine
My first encounter with luck was a significant one. In fact, it changed my life.
Remember that quote from dirty harry when Clint Eastwood tells with endless cool to some crook he busted: "Youv'e got to ask yourself, do you feel lucky? well, do ya, punk!?"
That sentence ran through my head as i pulled that lever on one of the many slot machines in the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas a little more than a year ago.
I had never been to Las Vegas before, hell, i had never even been to a casino before! So i thought to myself it was a good time to start. We were on our way to meet some family in San Francisco and Vegas and the strip was an obvious stop on the way.
Anyway... I sat down at the first slot machine i encountered and played a few rounds. It was on the 7th round (i swear!) that i heard bells ringing and sirens and i almost had an epileptic attack due to the light show that came out of that thing. Only then i noticed that the bar on the slot machine showed an innocent 777... The jackpot, without getting into too much details, was very very large. Millions in fact.
So now more than a year has passed and i have much more free time since all the excitement and the big changes in my life have winded down a bit. I have more time for myself and one of the things i always loved was writing my old journal (diaries are for sissies). So i'm back and feeling luckier than ever!
In my next post i'll tell you what i have been doing since my jackpot win...
Until then, be lucky and remember to look for that 777. It's worth it.
